Conservative Mariano Rajoy is sworn in as Spain's new prime minister

Conservative leader Mariano Rajoy was sworn in Wednesday, December 21, as Spain’s new prime minister, to begin work on what he lists as his top priority -- pulling the nation out of its deep economic crisis.

Rajoy won a landslide election victory in parliamentary elections November 20. Daunting to-do list awaits Spain new PM

The Obama administration previously offered its support for the economic reforms of the outgoing Socialist government, but that government's unpopular austerity measures and the economic crisis led to its defeat at the polls.

Spain has an overall unemployment rate of 21.5%, but it youth unemployment rate is a staggering 45%.

Rajoy said most of Spain's national holidays that fall on weekdays would be observed on the closest Monday to improve productivity. Rajoy's first cabinet meeting is scheduled for Friday.

Crawford decides to enroll with Blazers

Free-agent guard Jamal Crawford has joined the Portland Trail Blazers.

The player Crawford made official his move to Portland.
He has done it via twiter.
The veteran sportsman (eleven years old in basketball)
was not sure about which team he would play;
Sacramento or Portland Blazers (old team of Rudy Fernández). Finally he
chose Portland.
For his career, the 31-year-old has
averaged 15.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists. He won the NBA's Sixth Man
award in 2010.
The Blazers made it official a few hours later on
Thursday when they announced they had signed Crawford.
The player will have an important role because he has to
replace the old Star Blazers: Brandon Roy.
Roy announced
his retirement because of knee problems (he
has not cartilage)
Brandon Roy was the most important player in the team
until his retirement, so it is going to be a big responsibility for Crawford.

Climate change

The climate change is happening right here, right now. The greenhouse gases are increasing at an alarming rate. The 17th annual United Nations climate conference, which aims at coming up with a successor to the Kyoto Protocol or a new international agreement, wraps up Friday in Durban, South Africa.

The U.S. position at the talks can be described as, well, nuanced. Chief climate negotiator Todd Stern says that he favors a legally binding treaty to replace Kyoto (which the U.S. Senate never ratified), but only if it holds developing nations such as China and India to the same mandatory standards as industrialized countries such as the U.S.

If not reach an agreement, that would mean catastrophic sea-level rise, drought, famine and weather-related carnage. Fortunately, we'll all be dead by then. But our progeny will not thank us.

Drop in Sea Eagle population due to poor weather condition

The number of new-born see eagle chicks has descended by three in 2011. The spring weather has been awful and some birds nests have been broken. Although the good news is that more territorial pairs have been sited this year.

The birds were incorporated in 1975 and there is controversy about the fact that they may be reintroduced in to other areas of Scotland with the posible danger of the birds attacking people, children in particular.

It is understood that people love to see these magnificent birds soaring the skies and many people travel to Scotland to enjoy natural based tourism. The benefit to the economy is a staggering £1.4 bn per year.

I chose this article because I love birds, and find it inspiring that the ragged and bleek coasts of Scotland can house something so beautiful. I also want to pay tribute to the enormous amount of conservation work being carried out for the protection of species.

DAVID CAMERON´S DECISION

I have chosen because it could consider, the first concern of political leaders and to the people.I have selected this notice for being a great news world news.

There is a great need for legislation on the European politics on financial matters. The latest decisions in this regard, as a consequence has resulted in David Cameron's opposition to these measures. Within his own country David Cameron has found opinions contrary to their decision. From the business sector in Britain are wary of this decision, by the fear of isolation.

Netanyahu and illegal migration

Netanyahu visit Africa in bid to curb illegal migration to Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will travel to Africa in early February 2012 to try to return immigrants to their countries.

In a weekly event said the infiltrators from entering Israel from the Sinai Peninsula, suffer a coup, because it affects everything, including welfare and internal security.
In Netanyahu said Israel infiltrate African migrants are not refugees. As no land put through should not be addressed as refugees, since they are being inundated by the human wave of immigrants.

I decided to choose this story because I see well that immigration is regulated in a country, and this being a country with so many conflicts.

Ballet is culture and love

Two young sisters, Sophie Ward, and Racheal 10 and 15 years of age, have achieved an important milestone in the world of ballet. Both come from a family of dancers.
Sophie has just won an important place in the production of the English Youth Ballet Swan Lake, after a hearing against the best young dancers in the country.
Racheal won a scholarship International Dance Recently.

I chose this story because, I think there is a strong need for beautiful living experience, and the world needs the arts, because they believe that imagination and think creatively. The dancer conveys subtlety, finesse and style. The main purpose of a dancer, is that the audience leaves the theatre with a sense of hope, beauty and love.

Carbon Emissions will not stop growing

Global emissions of carbon dioxide from fossil-fuel burning jumped by the largest amount on record last year, upending the notion that the brief decline during the recession might persist through the recovery.

Emissions rose 5.9 percent in 2010, according to an analysis released Sunday by the Global Carbon Project, an international collaboration of scientists tracking the numbers.

The combustion of coal represented more than half of the growth in emissions, the report found.

Scientists say the rapid growth of emissions is warming the Earth, threatening the ecology and putting human welfare at long-term risk. But their increasingly urgent pleas that society find a way to limit emissions have met sharp political resistance in many countries, including the United States, because doing so would entail higher energy costs.

I have chosen
this new
the newspaper "The New York Times" because is important not to forget the role that countries have with the issue of climate change. They must reduce the emission of harmful gases into the atmosphere and invest more green plants and renewable energy so that our planet live longer and better.
